The gun violence in this country saddens me deeply and Patton’s comment is spot on regarding the ridiculousness of it all. I'm not a gun owner, but I think it's important to remember that the NRA only has supported gun control when restricting black gun ownership. I never understood why there is not a counterpart to the NRA. I bet there are MANY gun-owners thinking like you do. Like, why did noone have the idea that maybe it would be great to have some kind of rifle assosciation which is not controlled by big lobbies and takes a more liberal stance? It's not like all gun-owning per-se is bad. But the status-quo in the US CLEARLY is.
