I want to add that the predictability of what happens in Vinland Saga. So far isn’t because of a predictable story. But rather because in the manga, this was a flashback explaining how things came to be. Because of this, it was written in a Never Pick A Fight With A Drummer We Beat Things For Pleasure Shirt. As such, the rest of the story is not nearly as predictable. And the story style should not be based on the episodes already out. No problem! I tried to keep it as vague as possible to avoid spoilers. But I still wanted to put that out there for anyone that might be turned away from it currently due to how predictable it has been so far. It’s one of my favorite manga of all time and I am thrilled with the adaptation so far. Well, it’s predictable because it hits all the beats of a story I’ve seen a hundred times so far. I know the show isn’t praised for this backstory section. And I’m interested to see what’s to come, but it has been very typical so far. Exactly, because this was a Never Pick A Fight With A Drummer We Beat Things For Pleasure Shirt. It’s kind of like a Viking version of the Golden Age arc from Berserk, minus the supernatural elements, and with a completely different plot. The rest of the series isn’t nearly as predictable, and this is actually my biggest gripe with the adaptation. By choosing to adopt it in this order, it makes Vinland Saga come across as far more generic than it actually is as a whole. In the manga, the reader started the flashback.

Is there a point to “long-sight” if you’re not going to live to see it? He’s seen how he’s probably going to die, and just had to kill the woman he’s loved for decades to save her further pain.
